EPA MPG estimates for 2011 and 2012 vehicles have been added

We have added EPA MPG estimates for 2011 and 2012 vehicles to our database. Feel free to check out some of our MPG Tools on the left.

We have also added all makes and models that were missing from our database, please update your vehicle's details if you were waiting on that.

All users who own 2011 vehicle - please go to modify vehicle screen (my account -> dashboard -> modify vehicle link, click on "Change EPA Type" link - and select proper row for your vehicle's engine size, transmission, etc, and save the selection.

Thanks and have a great day everybody!

Re: EPA MPG estimates for 2011 and 2012 vehicles have been added

With gas teetering around $4 a gallon, if you expect 35 mpg out of your new car, but actual clock only 20 mpg, you could lose about $1,300 for every 15,000 miles you drive that is according to the Chicago Tribune.  However, just such discrepancies occur. In fact, the type of fuel that is used also affects fuel efficiency. The EPA uses gasoline without additives in its testing, whereas most commercial fuel sold in the U.S. contains 8 to 10 percent ethanol. Many new car buyers probably leave the seller's lot expecting their brand new automobile to get the miles per gallon listed on the Environmental Protection Agency sticker. But often those numbers do not match. But is that really an issue, and should some action be taken?
