Re: First message

Hello,

I have a 2004 Hyundai Elantra and am curious of the mpg as it compares with the EPA for the vehicle. 'Was looking for an easy way to track it, and I think this place will fit the bill.

Re: First message

Hi bobscar, I don't own Elantra but as with any front-wheel drive car you are way better off in the snow than most RWD smile
And as long as you take it easy on gas and breaks - you should do just fine. Does your car have ABS?
If you plan to keep your car for a while and you are getting a lot of snow where you live - you may consider buying snow tires, they really help. I have a separate set of wheels with snow tires, so you may consider something like that as well.

Hello;

Just  purchased a 1995 Ford F-150. I'm sure the gas mileage will not be good but we need it to pull our trailer.  Saw this site on Kim Komando's site. Looks like it will be useful especially when we start traveling in the spring.

Re: First message

I just joined up and entered my mileage after a fill up last night. I have an 08 Toyota Prius that I've had since Feb. I love love love it, especially after having an SUV for 12 years. I had fantastic mileage over the summer months - in the 50s, but since it's gotten cooler the mileage is going down a bit. I always figure out mpg after each fill, but I never track it graphically. I'm really excited about this site!

Re: First message

I joined up a few days ago, also thanks to Kim Kommando's tip.  I drive a GMC Yukon in my work.  I have been keeping pretty close watch on mileage the 'old fashioned way' until I discovered this site.
Thanks.

Re: First message

I signed up a few days ago, and I guess you all owe Kim Kommando a brownie at least, she sent me this way as well.  I am very happy to see this site up and running.  I used to own www.auto781.com which had a very similar purpose.  Unfortunately I could not afford to keep it going.  May I suggest you add a "Vendor" field to the fuel tracking page.  This would allow you to build reports on how different vehicles react to different brands.  There is a difference.  I get about a 2mpg increase using Shell over some of the generic brands.  Just a thought and great site!  Much better than what I had set up on my own.

Re: First message

I drive a '98 Forester and am pretty happy to have an AWD vehicle that gets an average of 27 mpg driving up and down in the mountains every day. Nice to find your site!

Re: First message

Howdy,
I just got my used 2000 VW New Beetle 1.8L Turbo with 100k less than a month ago.  Since I have to put premium in it I really want to keep close track of my mileage.  I drive 100-110 miles per day to work so I use a bit of gas sad
Hope this works cause I'm really interested.

Re: First message

Welcome aboard! smile

I used to drive like 65 miles to work and 65 miles back every day, so you definitely should watch your gas costs. I had to fill-up like every 2-3 days.
At least gas prices are down now so that should help a bit.

Re: First message

I'm new here - sent here by a friend. I have 2 BMW convertibles. A 1997 Black 328ic and a 1995 Red 325ic.

I'm looking forward to using this site to track the information on them. I run Linux as my primary operating system and Windows in a virtual machine as well as on the laptop, so it will be nice to be able to enter the information regardless of which operating system I am using!

Thanks!

Re: First message

Hi all. I created my own Excel spreadsheet to track all sorts of MPG, Cost per mile, Averages, Records, etc. But I got tired of carrying around all my receipts then entering them at my computer later on, so I searched for an online solution. After trying out several other sites, I found this one and it's definitely the one for me! Thanks to the creator(s) of the site for a useful [and free] product!

Re: First message

This is a cool site, can't wait for my mpg records following my next fillup. I just got this 3 banger metro and I want to see what it can do.  It's easy on the wallet so far and I can't be in any hurry for the next fillup because the metro is doing it's thing. saving me money and gas.

Re: First message

Hi, new to the forum, just purchased a 98 Chevy Malibu LS, 42k, pretty clean, starting to notice it has the dreaded intake gasket leak, I am hoping to repair it after winter, its not leaking too bad, yet.... I typically do repairs myself so any input would be nice!
My 05 Dodge Ram costs too much as a daily driver and I have a 70 Olds which I only drive in Summer.
I am hoping the site will help prove that I am saving money smile

Re: First message

I joined the site in October of 2008 (also thanks to Kim Komando!) about five months after I bought a new Suzuki XL-7. I used to keep a notebook in my car to track my mileage, so I was easily able to enter all the old data onto the web site. Since then I've bought a new motorcycle and a new Subaru Forester for my wife.  I want to thank the site owner(s) for a really user friendly - and free! - method for tracking fuel and maintenance expenses for all of my vehicles. I've turned a few of my friends and coworkers onto MPGTune.com, but most of them call me a geek for religiously using this site. So I guess I should say hello to my fellow members of the Geek Squad! cool

Re: First message

Hello to all. Found this site and will visit it and use it faithfully! My 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT is gone for the day but will input my mileage numbers this evening for all to view. Every vehicle I've owned has ALL it's data recorded, and this latest is no different.
