hey man. how did you manage 38mpg at 70mph with AC? i recently bought the same car i think and am looking to increase my mpg

By: ebovine On: 07/10/2008

I added some content to the top of the page to answer "how do you do it". Hopefully it helps.

By: cvax On: 07/10/2008

Cool ebovine. Thanks for the info. Do you do mostly highway or city driving? What speed do you usually travel at in city?

By: ebovine On: 07/10/2008

70% highway, 30% city. In the city I travel the speed limit. It takes me a while to get up to the speed limit, though. :)

In the city I try to hit lights. I watch as far in front of myself as I can and will slow down/speed up to hit green lights. If you get really lucky you can get behind one of those guys that nails it as soon as the light turns green. Typically he'll hit the next light and turn it green just about the time you get there so that you never have to stop or slow down.

Thanks for the tips! And I absolutely agree - no one should risk their lives doing that crazy stuff!

By: mcnewby On: 08/25/2008

Great mileage. I used to have an 89 Civic DX that I routinely got between 38-42 MPG. I wish I still had that car.

what happened to your mileage? the graph is plummeting!
